How much does a Body Lift Cost?

How much does a Body Lift Cost?A body lift is a customizable plastic surgery procedure to improve contours in the upper, lower, or mid body, or may be combined for overall body lift.

The costs of the procedure will vary according to the patient’s cosmetic needs and the extent of surgery required. Dr. Gary Motykie is a dedicated cosmetic surgeon providing body lift to patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and other cities and locations in this part of Southern California.

    Financial Factors

Some of the key factors that will impact the dollar figure of body lift include:

    Type of Body Lift

If the sagging skin and fat tissue deposits are only present in a limited body area, a less extensive lower, upper or mid body lift procedure may be performed. This will involve limited removal of skin from one or two specific sites in the body.

A full body lift plastic surgery, on the other hand, will involve lifting of sagging tissue from several areas, which may include buttocks, thighs, abdomen, breasts and upper arms. The costs of a full body lift will be significantly higher than that of a partial lift.

    Single or Multi-State Surgery

Many patients are good candidates for a single body lift surgery procedure, but in a few cases, the surgeon may recommend breast up the procedure into multiple surgical appointments. Multi-state surgery will cost more because repetitive costs for anesthesia, surgical room fees and pre- and post-op care will be incurred.

Superlative and percipient cosmetic surgeon Dr. Motykie receives patients from Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and nearby areas for body lift surgery and other procedures for the breast, body and face.

    Fat Removal

While body lift will usually involve only tightening of loose skin in targeted areas, some patients may have excess fat pockets along with sagging skin. In such case, the surgeon may recommend liposuction surgery along with body lift, which will add to the overall costs of the procedure.

    Patient’s Health

Some patients may have underlying medical conditions or may suffer from chronic diseases such as diabetes, which affect the immune system. Body lift may be more complicated in such cases, and will require additional care for surgery preparation, medical tests, surgical techniques, and recovery. These can add to the overall costs of the procedure.

    Anesthesia or Sedation

The surgeon may decide to perform body lift surgery with the patient under general anesthesia or local anesthesia with IV sedation. In case of general anesthesia, the costs may increase because it will include the fee of an anesthesiologist or a nurse anesthetist who will be present throughout the surgery to monitor the patient’s response.

    Pre- and Post-Op Costs

Body lift surgery may be preceded by some medical exams and diagnostic tests. Post-op costs can include the costs of prescription pain meds and antibiotics, medical tests, compression garments, and post-operative appointments.

    Insurance

Although medical insurance is generally not available in case of an elective body lift surgery, but in a few cases, the patient may be eligible for coverage. If the sagging skin folds are causing rashes, infection, pain or other medical concerns, the insurer may cover a part of the costs.
