Liposuction For Your Hips And Thighs

Liposuction For Your Hips And Thighs

Liposuction For Your Hips And Thighs | Beverly Hills | West HollywoodLiposuction cosmetic surgery of the hips and outer thighs should ideally be performed together. Many patients believe that only their thighs are the problem area. However, simultaneous treatment on the hips will offer more complete cosmetic outcomes.

    Thighs and Clothing

Inherited genetics often determine the fat on female thighs and hips. This area of fat, also known as saddlebags, is usually unresponsive to diet and exercise. It is likely the most common problem area for females. A majority of women seek liposuction on their thighs to feel more confident when wearing certain clothing such as a swimsuit or shorts.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie provides liposuction of the thighs and hips to patients in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, CA, and surrounding locations.

Sites Where the Body Stores the Most Fat

The two primary areas of the body that store most body fat are the hips and thighs. These sites have a significant amount of the lipase enzyme. Due to this, the hips and thighs have a higher tendency to store fat quickly. The hips and thighs are less responsive to fat loss by diet and exercise for this reason.

Benefits of Hips and Thighs Liposuction

There are various benefits of hips and thighs liposuction plastic surgery, including:

    • It helps reduce the number of inflammatory cells. The probability of the development of cardiovascular disease increases in proportion to the number of inflammatory cells in the body. Liposuction can, in fact, reduce inflammatory cells by as much as 11 percent.
    • Liposuction can help reduce the levels of blood fat, called triglycerides. Higher levels of triglycerides are linked to a greater possibility of developing cardiovascular disease.
    • The procedure can remove fat in a safe manner.
    • Individuals who have received liposuction feel more confident about their appearance.
    • Liposuction contours areas of the body that are resistant to diet and exercise.

    What does Thigh Liposuction Involve

A majority of women have fat in their inner and outer thighs. Some women store fat only on the outer edges of their thighs while others have fat bulges on the inner side.

Liposuction could help people who are unhappy with the appearance of their thighs. This procedure can eliminate excess fat and skin from the thighs.

What to Expect from a Hip Liposuction

The hips are one of the most difficult areas of the body for fat loss. Hip liposuction surgery can significantly help patients lose inches on this body area. One of the most successful areas of the body for liposuction is the hips.

The procedure is typically undertaken on an outpatient basis. The patient may find walking or standing for a longer duration difficult during the initial healing period, although sitting is generally comfortable.

They may also experience minor inflammation or bruising. The body may take up to three months to acclimatize to its new contours following liposuction surgery.

Recovery from Liposuction for Hips and Thighs

In general, liposuction patients experience inflammation, bruising, and some sensation loss in the area. However, these after-effects will resolve slowly over the next few weeks following the procedure. Bruising will also slowly subside over the next three weeks or so. The inflammation will resolve over three months or so.

Patients are usually sore for one to two weeks, with minor soreness continuing for up to one month. The patient may require pain drugs in the initial week of recovery.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie receives patients from Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, CA, and nearby areas for liposuction of the thighs and hips.

    Liposuction For Your Love Handles

Liposuction For Your Love Handles | Beverly Hills | West HollywoodThe love handles or flanks are the side of the body between the hip and the ribs. This body area has a tendency to develop fatty deposits. Sometimes, this fat may accumulate due to weight gain. In such cases, a person can successfully address the fat with diet and exercise.

However, at times these so-called love handles may also occur over time due to genetic factors. In such cases, there are very limited natural ways of removing this fat.

Thankfully, the flanks have various characteristics that make them respond very well to minimally invasive liposuction cosmetic surgery.

    Sunny Information

The area is well-defined, which means that even a slight reduction of fat produces excellent improvements. In addition, the skin in the flanks has good elasticity, enabling it to mold to the new and tighter contours after liposuction surgery.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie provides liposuction of the love handles to patients in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, CA, and surrounding communities.

    What Causes Love Handles?

Aging, pregnancy, other hormonal fluctuations, and genetic predisposition are some factors that can cause fat to be stored in the flanks. Many of these causes are beyond an individual’s control. Therefore, liposuction provides an effective solution to eliminate love handles.

Liposuction will eliminate love handles for good, and the unappealing area of fat will likely never return. This procedure eliminates fat cells permanently, allowing the patient to bid adieu to their love handles forever.

But in case the patient puts on a large amount of weight, the remaining fat cells in the treated area and other parts of the body become larger. Liposuction for love handles is not meant to be a treatment for obesity. Therefore, patients should consider liposuction plastic surgery only for the treatment of isolated areas of unwanted fat.

    Benefits of Flank Liposuction

    • More balance to the body
    • Enhanced body contours
    • Sleeker body shape
    • As the flanks influence clothing size, the patient may drop a size or two after liposuction for love handles
    • Minimally invasive procedure with significantly less recovery times in comparison to more invasive types of liposuction
    • Very safe procedure, undertaken only under local anesthesia

    Procedure

The surgeon uses a device known as a cannula to perform flank liposuction. A cannula is a thin steel tube that the surgeon will delicately insert into the fat layer of the back.

They will move the cannula back and forth gently through the fat layer while remaining perfectly parallel to the skin. This will disintegrate the fat cells which are subsequently suctioned out of the body through a cannula.

Similar to every procedure that the surgeon performs, flank liposuction is also undertaken with minimally invasive tumescent liposuction. Only local anesthetic is used during this procedure.

The patient stays awake or is mildly sedated, and this liposuction technique leads to quicker healing and better outcomes than more invasive types of liposuction.

Flank liposuction offers men and women different results. In women, flank liposuction leads to enhancements in their feminine figure. It creates a beautiful S-shaped curve to the lower back region that enhances the rear as well.

On the other hand, flank liposuction creates more of a V-shape when viewing from the back. Flank reduction also creates a generally sleeker and fitter appearance in men.

    Aspects to Consider

Throughout the liposuction procedure, the surgeon evaluates various factors such as the proportions of the patient’s body as well as skin elasticity. This enables the results to not only be beautiful, but also entirely unique to the patient.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie receives patients from Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, CA, and nearby areas for liposuction of the love handles.

Liposuction For Your Abdomen / Tummy

Liposuction For Your Abdomen / Tummy | Beverly Hills | Los AngelesMany people are unhappy about the fatty pockets around their stomach. These stubborn pockets of fat are unresponsive even to diet and exercise.

To successfully eliminate the excess belly fat, liposuction body contouring is the most widely accepted cosmetic surgery procedure today in the US.

According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 396,048 liposuction procedures were undertaken in 2015 alone. There is certainly no magic wand to make stubborn belly fat disappear. But liposuction may offer an effective solution for love handles and other types of unwanted flab around the abdomen.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie provides abdominal liposuction to patients in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, CA, and surrounding locations.

    What Stomach Liposuction Does

Aging causes a general redistribution of body fat, specifically around the mid-body region. Women may experience a roll of stubborn, unattractive belly fat due to childbirth. Genetics, of course, account for a lot too. However, as far as liposuction is concerned, all fat is not the same.

Fat that does not respond to diet and exercise is typically subcutaneous fat. This fat lies underneath the skin and on top of the abdominal muscle wall. Fortunately, liposuction plastic surgery can eliminate this fat and re-contour the middle for a more sculpted appearance.

    How Abdominal Liposuction Is Done

The most common technique to remove fat around the buttocks, ankles, thighs, and stomach is known as “tumescent liposuction.”

It is also considered to be the safest method. “Tumescent” refers to substantial amounts of buffered salt water that is injected into the fatty tissue underneath the skin.

The surgeon places an incision in the treatment site and subsequently inserts a strawlike tube, known as a cannula, beneath the flesh. The cannula is attached to a vacuum pump or syringe and has a stiff wand at the end. The surgeon maneuvers it back and forth in quick motions to loosen fat.

The time taken to complete the procedure is between 45 minutes to two hours. The recovery period lasts up to two weeks. The complete effect of liposuction is apparent in six to 12 weeks following the procedure.

Following the procedure, the area is bandaged, and the patient must wear a compression garment for one to two weeks. The pain and bruising may remain for up to two weeks, and inflammation may last for two weeks to two months.

What Stomach Liposuction does not do

Liposuction is a procedure meant for fat loss, it is not designed as a weight-loss solution. This procedure is most effective on fatty deposits that are concentrated in specific areas and are resistant to exercise, especially around the thighs, stomach, buttocks, and hips.

The patient may lose a slight amount of weight with liposuction, but it will likely not be significant. This procedure will not address a bulging stomach due to weakness in the abdominal wall, and it will not tighten loose skin.

However, liposuction is sometimes undertaken in combination with abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) for toning and flattening the abdominal area.

    Post-Op Healing

The patient will not require any pain meds stronger than acetaminophen (Tylenol) to manage the pain after tumescent liposuction. The pain is similar to the burning and muscle soreness that is felt after an aggressive exercise session.

The pain intensity is similar to that of sunburn, and most intense when the skin of the treated site is touched or flexed, such as when rolling over in bed, getting in and out of a vehicle, or sitting still in a chair. The patient will experience minimal discomfort when sitting or walking.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie receives patients from Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, CA, and nearby areas for liposuction of the abdomen.

    Types of Liposuction

Types of Liposuction | Beverly Hills | Los Angeles | West HollywoodVarious liposuction cosmetic surgery techniques are available to the surgeons today. The primary difference between each liposuction technique is the technology involved to achieve safe fat removal.

Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie provides liposuction body contouring to patients in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, CA, and surrounding communities.

    Tumescent Liposuction

Tumescent liposuction is generally performed as an outpatient procedure using only local anesthesia and sedation. The time taken for the surgery may differ depending on the extent of fat removal, surgical technique used, and the number of treatment areas involved.

The surgeon commences the procedure by placing a tiny incision in the treatment area. They will then insert a thin cannula through to incision to access the deeper layers of fat.

Subsequently, the surgeon will gently move the cannula back and forth to dislodge the fat cells. After the fat cells come loose, the surgeon will use a syringe or vacuum pump attached to the outer end of the cannula to suction them out.

During this plastic surgery procedure, the patient will experience some loss of blood and fluid. The fluids will be replaced with UV infusions during and right after the surgery.

    Laser Assisted Liposuction (Smart Lipo)

Smart Lipo is a laser-assisted system of lipolysis that enables patients to accomplish skin tightening and fat reduction in a minimally invasive way.

The system has been developed to tighten underlying loose tissue and dislodge unwanted fat cells with precise laser energy. Today, many cosmetic surgeons are using this technology as an appropriate supplement to liposuction in order to decrease the treatment’s invasiveness and achieve more effective outcomes.

Liposuction surgery aims to reduce localized fatty deposits from the face and body. Smart Lipo is an excellent adjunct to this process as a laser-assisted technique that will coagulate blood vessels in a safe manner and attain desired results with less bruising and bleeding than liposuction alone.

    Why Choose Smart Lipo?

Smart Lipo offers patients the following benefits:

    • The treatment is minimally invasive
    • Several clinical studies have proven the safety of the procedure
    • It treats targeted areas of undesirable fat
    • It accomplishes skin tightening by encouraging coagulation of blood vessels
    • It causes less bruising and bleeding in comparison to liposuction alone
    • The downtime is much less than a standard surgery
    • The patient experiences less pain and trauma
    • Highly fibrous regions can be addressed more conveniently
    • Outcomes are more predictable, reproducible, and consistent

    Ultrasound Assisted Liposuction

This technique is based on ultrasound energy which helps disintegrate the fatty tissue and loosen it from the body. This allows for more convenient removal of substantial amounts of fat with a shorter surgical procedure. VASER Liposelection is a variation of this technique.

    Suction Assisted Liposuction

In this technique, the surgeon uses a vacuum-like device to eliminate fat. Power Assisted Liposuction is also a similar technique that involves the use of a tool that enhances the movement of the cannula used to eliminate fat.

The outcomes of liposuction surgery ultimately depend on the skills of the surgeon rather than the technique used. Patients should invest time in choosing an experienced board certified plastic surgeon who will place the utmost importance on patient safety.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie receives patients from Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, West Hollywood, CA, and nearby areas for liposuction body contouring.

    SmartGraft Key Facts

    • The recovery period is only one to two days.
    • SmartGraft enables the re-growth of natural hair, and the outcomes are permanent!

    Is it effective?

SmartGraft technology uses a device that delicately and precisely extracts grafts from a donor area where the hair is fuller, denser, and predisposed to re-grow.

These grafts are automatically counted, sorted, and stored in an environmentally controlled canister. The hair that will re-grow in the implanted areas will be permanent. The excellent outcomes will allow the patient to wear any hairstyle that they desire.
