Plump Thin Lips with Dermal Fillers

Plump Thin Lips with Fillers

Plump Thin Lips with Dermal FillersLip enhancement is an aesthetic procedure which helps in enhancing and volumizing the lips using a dermal injectable filler treatment. Hyaluronic acid based dermal filers are the most commonly used products, including Restylane and Juvederm. Filler treatments can add fullness, plumpness, and natural-looking volume. They can also even out the shape of your lips.

Dermal lip fillers are highly customizable. Your cosmetic surgeon will create the best look for you whether it is subtle and low key or prominent and bold. Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie provides dermal fillers for lip augmentation to patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and surrounding locations.

Suitable Dermal Filler Injectables for Lips

Juvéderm, Juvéderm Ultra, Juvéderm Ultra Plus, Juvéderm Volbella, Restylane, and Restylane Silk are the most commonly used filles for lip enhancement. All these products contain hyaluronic acid but vary in terms of thickness and how they change the lips.

Hyaluronic is a naturally occurring sugar derivative in the body. It has the capacity to hold 1,000 times of its weight in water. This makes it perfect for plumping the lips, chin, jaw, and cheeks. It is also useful in hydrating the skin. Hyaluronic acid-based fillers are also recommended for their natural ability and look. They get absorbed in the body over time.

Juvéderm, Volbella, and Restylane Silk have thinner consistencies. They are usually used superficially to make the lips appear puffy. Restylane is ideal for older patients for redefining and reshaping the scaffolding or borders of lips. Juvéderm Volbella is useful in younger patients for volumizing the lips and giving it that special ‘oomph’. The kind of aesthetics you desire is an important factor when choosing a treatment provider.

Results of Lip Filler Injections

There are various factors that determine the extent and length of lip filler results. Desired plumpness, individual metabolism, and the product used are a few determining factors. However, you can expect results to last from six months to three years. On an average, you may require maintenance treatments every six months.

Number of Syringes Required for Lip Augmentation

According to experts, a single syringe distributed appropriately is enough for most beginners. This is because maintaining a natural appearance is as important as enhancement. Gradual plumping is key to satisfactory results. Often times, treatment providers start by injecting half a syringe before asking their patients to return in a week or two.

You should be wary if the doctor suggests getting more than a single syringe if it is your first time. Two syringes are excessive for most people in a single sitting if you want a natural appearance.

Lips Don’t Stretch Permanently

Lip fillers don’t cause your lips to stretch permanently. They won’t turn into deflated and saggy bags once the filler dissolves. Experts, on the contrary, state that injecting dermal fillers stimulates collagen production. This could mean that your lips actually become a tiny bit larger naturally following the injectable treatment.

Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie receives patients from Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and nearby areas for dermal fillers to plump thin lips.
