    Combined Procedures

Liposuction was introduced to target areas of excess fat in the body. It was not designed to remove excess skin, lift breasts or tighten muscles. Therefore, the best results from liposuction occur in body areas where there is normal muscle tone and healthy skin with good elasticity.  In cases where there is loose skin, excess fat and/or stretched muscles, a combination of both liposuction and surgical skin tightening may be necessary in combination to achieve superior results. Liposuction is often used in conjunction with such procedures as abdominoplasty, facelift/necklift or breast reduction/lifting.

Liposuction is also not a direct treatment for cellulite (the dimpled skin that can appear on a woman’s thighs, hips and buttocks). This is a skin based problem whereas liposuction addresses fatty tissue. There are some non-invasive skin treatments that are having promising results when dealing with the issues of cellulite, stretch marks and/or loose skin which can be found by visiting the medical spa website.

Lastly, there are some times when the fat removed from liposuction can be used to rejuvenate other areas of the body though fat grafting such as the face, hands and buttocks. Two areas well known to “give away” a person’s age are the face and the back of the hands. Both of these areas can be rejuvenated through fat grafting in which the fat is extracted, purified and re-injected into the specific area. The injected fat is also packed full of stem cells which helps to rejuvenate the skin form the inside out. A Brazilian buttock lift is also becoming more and more popular as patients realize there is a way to rejuvenate and lift the buttock without the use of implants, artificial fillers or incisions. Fat injections to the buttocks can both lift and reshape the buttocks to give a fuller, perkier look with a quick recovery period.
