Although a browlift can improve the appearance and the position of a heavy forehead, it is only intended to rejuvenate the upper part of the face and eyes. A browlift therefore is often combined with other surgical procedures such as facelifts and upper eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) in order to further improve the look of the eyes and balance rejuvenation with the other remaining facial features. For instance, when patients complain of “hooding” of their upper eyes, evaluation of the upper eyelids and position of the brow must be done simultaneously in order to determine which surgery or combination of both will give the most natural and youthful results. If the patient has loose skin in the neck and/or a tired look underneath the eyes as well as in the forehead, sometimes a facelift and lower eyelid surgery may need to be performed in order to achieve balanced rejuvenation of the entire face.
