Breast Lift With Implants Risks And Safety

    Breast Lift With Implants

Breast Lift With Implants Risks And Safety Risks are inherent to any surgical procedure, and your goal must be to minimize those risks as far as possible. You can do it by choosing as reputable and trusted plastic surgeon with an established track record of successful surgeries. Nevertheless, it is still important to be aware of the potential risks and complications related to your breast implants with lift cosmetic surgery.

At the time of your pre-op consultation, your surgeon will apprise you of all the risks transparently. They will examine your general health condition and review your medical history to determine your specific risks related to anesthesia and surgery. Based on your risk profile, your surgeon will recommend a customized surgery plan for your breast procedure.

You should be committed to following your surgeon’s advice regarding the surgery as well as abide by their pre- and post-operative care guidelines in order to achieve safe and predictable outcomes. Board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie provides breast lift with implants surgery to patients in Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and surrounding communities.

    Common Risks

Some of the typical risks associated with a breast augmentation with lift cosmetic surgery include:

    Infection

If you experience symptoms such persistent inflammation and redness, skin that feels warm to touch, continuous pain and fever despite the use of pain medications, and/or pus in the incision sites, you may have developed an infection. In this case, you should talk to your surgeon promptly for advice.

    Hematoma

Excessive or uncontrolled bleeding during or after your breast surgery is one of the rare risks, but it can occur if your surgeon has not taken adequate precautions. Your surgeon can mitigate this risk by evaluating your medical history carefully. At the same time, you should follow your surgeon’s instructions diligently about avoiding certain medications and supplements.

    Adverse Reaction to Anesthesia

Even with a thorough pre-surgery evaluation, in exceptional cases, you may have a poor response to anesthesia during your surgery. If you have underlying medical conditions, this risk is even higher. Your surgeon should have an anesthesiologist present in the surgical room throughout to monitor your response and manage the complications, if any.

    Implant-Related Risks

As your breast augmentation with lift surgery involves placement of saline or silicone implants, you should also be aware of the inherent implant related risks and complications. Capsular contracture can occur at any time after your surgery. In this condition, the scar tissue that forms around your implant capsule may harden or tighten, causing you pain.

Other implant related complications can include shifting of the implants from their original position, rippling of the implants, or distortion of the implant shape. In these conditions, chances are that you may have to select breast implant revision surgery. You will have a choice to get your breast implants removed or replaced in order to restore healthy breasts.

Most of these risks are rare, and a vast majority of women can expect to enjoy the results of their breast lift with augmentation surgery for years to come. Cosmetic surgeon Dr. Gary Motykie receives patients from Beverly Hills, West Hollywood, Los Angeles, and nearby areas for breast lift with implants surgery.
